Tumut Endurance Ride
Hosting Snowy Zone Training Weekend
Ride Base – Tumut Showground
Tumut will be holding a testing training weekend,
21-22 February 2015.
There will be a 2 leg 50km trainer and 1 leg 20km social ride on both the Saturday and
Sunday. We have added the additional leg to give people and horses training in having
to ride out again.
We will also be holding a training day, on the Saturday, for people interested in becoming a TPR and how to use the computer and this learning can then be put into practice during the rides.
The course will be run in the Wereboldera National Park, which runs back to Blowering Dam and Batlow – but we won’t be riding quite that far. The course will run over rocky and rough terrain and will elevate to 800 metres. The ride won’t be flat and has very little flat in it. This weekend will be reminiscent of the Snowy Zone rides in the 70’s and 80’s.
This ride will be testing but it is hoped that you will take the challenge of the terrain rather that the speed of the flat rides. It will also be good training for the 50th Quilty.
If anyone is interested in sponsoring any of the prizes or making a donation we would be very appreciative. You can contact Kim Stephens on 02 6947 2951 or 0488 473 701 or kims5061@hotmail.com Also feel free to ring if you have any questions.
If you would like to take a holiday, with your horse of course, over the Christmas New Year break, to train over some of the course – arrangements for horse & rider accommodation can be made with Kim.
