Debbie Summerhayes

DebbieDebbie first started riding at 9 months old with her mum, and progressed to riding by herself by the time she was 3.  A life long love of horses followed, which has now reached to over 50 years.  She has been mostly involved in training horses, but has included Pony Club, dressage, show jumping, and endurance.

After learning from the natural horsemen like Pat Parelli, Buck Brannaman, Warwick Schiller and Guy McLean, the level of simplicity and ease that she now has with her horses makes it a joy to be around them, and easy for them to show their natural talents and love of what they do.  The level of training these horses get make them wonderful all round athletes who excel in other disciplines once they complete their racing careers.

Debbie has been a licenced harness racing trainer and driver spanning 30 years and is currently based in Queensland with a team of 12 horses, some in work as well as 3 broodmares and their foals.  You’ll often find her out doing fun things with them.

She believes in paying it forward and hopes that all horse lovers will benefit from and take advantage of this community.
